Instead of a gift in the tangible sense, give your time. You know your friends and family very well. Do not buy wrapping paper. Sometimes the paper costs as much a a gift. People will not think of you as cheap, but innovative! Do you have a bunch of spare cloth in a sewing basket somewhere? Spruce up your gifts with scraps of cloth, material, and ribbon.

How about a picture or photo? Your relatives especially like pictures. Then, shop at thrift stores for a neat frame. Don’t like thrift stores? Okay, big name discount department stores have very cheap (but nice) frames. Make your own gift baskets. Buying a pre-made basket is very, very expensive. Drug stores and big name discount stores have travel size items that are normally less than a dollar. They also have cheap baskets. Buy boxes that have several items in them–like tea, chocolate, candies, etc. You know what your friends and family like. Stuff them with good stuff. The grocery store is a terrific place to think of gifts. People like getting food. Why? If you give cheap gifts like the ones being described here, you will not need to worry about your stuff being regifted!
