Bought my wife a cruise for Christmas…what is best way to “wrap” it?

My wife loves cruises and we’ve never been on one together. I reserved one for Christmas (for Spring 2009) but I am not sure how I should wrap it up? should I print out the itinerary? any good suggestions? thanks

What I would do is get about five little presents and wrap them all individually. An itinerary is a little to simple, and I can tell you want to be a romantic here, so here’s the idea I have for you.

Start simple, by wrapping a seashell or something along the same line.

Next, in a completely different box, wrap up a vial of sand.

Third, wrap up a pair of sunglasses. If you want you can make them really nice ones that she might wear, or be funny by making them outrageous sunglasses (big and plastic).

Fourth, wrap up a classic margarita glass.

Five, wrap up a toy boat.

Now at this point, if your wife hasn’t figured it out by now, she’s probably wondering what is going on. This is when you pull out a small envelope (with the tickets inside) from your pocket, and you give them to her, and watch her face explode!

The little present should get her really excited because she won’t know what is going on, and it will build up the excitement of the real present. She’ll love it for sure…

    I hope this helps!

you can put it in a huge box of gag gifts, then ask her to reach all the way to the bottom. or just a huge box of newspaper.

Get a small plastic toy boat (if you can find a small model of a cruise ship that is best). Tie a tag on it that says "You and Me" and the place and date of your cruise. Then wrap that.

You can print out the itinerary and put in a box and wrap normally – you can put it in her stocking (if she has one) with bow around it. You could buy a small toy boat and attach the itinerary to it and wrap that. C’mon, guy, you were creative enough to buy the cruise . . .

Get a photo album(that way when cruise is done she can put pics in it). Print out a label that says Cruise ‘09 and put it on the front. Put the itinerary in the first page. Put it in a gift bag with some sunglasses, sunscreen and a new beach towel! That would be really cute. A new camera too if you can afford it (or even just a disposable one!)

You should get a toy cruise boat or just a regular boat and wrap it up. See if she says anything when she opens it, then tell her you got the cruise for both of you

is there somewhere specific that your cruise is stopping? I mean I don’t know if it seems cheesy to you, but my parents got me a trip to Disney when I was little, and they had got me a whole bunch of other little things, and wrapped with each gift was a letter, and once I had unwrapped all my gifts it spelled out disney, and there was an envelope in the tree with our tickets in it.

Maybe that’ll help, or at least spark your imagination a little?

get a huuuge box, then put a smaller box in that one, and a smaller box in that one, etc, etc… then in a tiny envelope in the smallest box put the inteniery in it :)

    How about this?

Make one of those cruise towel animals (you can find directions online..here’s one, Eddie Elephant: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/618261/how_to_make_a_cruise_ship_towel_animal_aka_towel_origami/

I would make the elephant, put it in a box, carefully wrap the box and place a big DO NOT SHAKE sticker on it. Because, if you do shake it, it’ll fall apart. On Christmas, have her open the box very carefully..or better yet (just thought of this) wrap the box ’soap opera style’ which means wrap the box and a lid individually so all she has to do is remove the lid and voila..a cute towel animal!

Also in the box, on the bottom or one of the sides so that the towel animal is the first thing she sees, place a printed out picture of the cruise ship along with the date that you’ll be going.

    Enjoy your cruise!

I think i would make it a treasure hunt kinda thing.. and make clues and and have her figure out clues to find the the seashell and the martini glass.. anything that has to do with the cruise.. and let the last thing or hint lead her to maybe the photo album wrapped up with the itinerary in with it.

    I really like "Countrys’" answer.
That is along the lines of what I would have suggested.
    Romantic and fun :)

I was going to suggest a home made gift basket with fun items for the cruise (depending on what kind of cruise and the location).

However, after reading Country’s suggestion, I must say that Country knows what woman respond to. If your wife is at all a romantic, she’ll love that build up!

With a momentous gift like that, you’ll definitely want to make it extra special. Years later the memory of how you delivered the gift will stand out in her memory – this is more important to many women than men realize.

I have come across some women who don’t care much for sentiment and romance though, so only you’d know if this would be a good idea for your wife.

i would get a box or bucket or basket and put a bunch of stuff you’ll need for the trip (bathing suit, sunscreen, etc) and put the itenerary in it. then wrap it up!

thats such and awesome, thoughtful gift!
