Honestly I love cruising on New Years. It's the best time! First off a southern cruise is warm and you can still lay out during the day. You never get to do that on New Years Day. Plus they tend to be dressier than other cruises. Everyone brings their best clothing and formal night tends to be New Years Eve. Unlike other Carnival cruises, formal night seems to be actually formal. Nearly everyone is in nice dresses--cocktail and prom dresses.

New Years Eve has so much going on. They have all the lounges hopping so no matter what music you like you can party like a rock star. They have champagne and lots of games and fun things going on all night long. Plus if you are over 21 it's even better since you don't have to have a DD.

I've done 80 cruises, one on New Years. They will have a party and count down the minutes and serve free champagne. You really bring your own fun and enthusiasm to the night, and the entire cruise really. I've not yet been on the Legend. Have fun and don't miss the snorkeling!
