New Years Eve Steamboat Cruises

Are the New Years Eve steamboat cruises in New Orleans worth the cost?

I was looking for something more interesting/tasteful to do on new years than partying on bourbon st. I was looking at the Natchez cruise 5, and the New Orleans midnight fireworks cruise . I was worried that they might be more like over priced “royal fork” (low quality family buffet chain) with an open bar. Has anyone heard anything about them or been?

Wow. I used to live in NOLA and that seems way too high. I preferred to go to restaurants for the holiday when I lived there. Most will take reservations. If you are going to pay that amount, try making a reservation at K-Paul’s or Antoine’s. The main part about NOLA is the food. Maybe get a hurricane at Pat O’Brien’s on the way back to the hotel around 12am or maybe just make a toast walking down Bourbon Street. Drinking booze in the streets is legal as long as it is in a paper cup. I have taken the boat tours years ago. There was not a lot to see at night. Do you know about the WTC? That might be a good spot.

Being a La native ! The tours suck.. If they were half the price then maybe I would go but they are WAY overpriced .. You cannot see anything at night on the Mississippi !
